GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • The presenter should be a member of the IPS and must have registered for the 52nd IPS national conference.
  • Delegates can participate in only one of the following events: Scientific Paper, E-Poster, and Table clinics. They cannot be the chief authors/co-authors for more than one presentation.
  • All presentations must align with the conference's central theme: "TIMELESS BASICS TO TIMELY BREAKTHROUGHS ".

PRESENTATION SLOTS

  • Each IPS member is allowed to make only one scientific presentation (Applicable only to Paper, E-poster & Table clinic).
  • Student presentations have specific authorship limits: 2 authors for paper presentations, 2 authors for poster presentations, and 2 to 4 authors for table clinics presentations.
  • Faculty presentations has strict authorship limitsonly one author for both paper and poster presentations.

IMPORTANT DATES AND COMMUNICATIONS

  • Submission of abstracts for all scientific presentations will commence from June 26th , 2024.
  • The deadline for abstract submission in all categories by delegates is September 30th , 2024.
  • The website will display the list of selected student papers, posters, and table clinics, as well as faculty papers and posters, by October 23rd , 2024. No individual communications will be sent.
  • The deadline for uploading scientific papers, poster presentations (both student and faculty), and entries for the NextGen Contest is October 30th , 2024.

INFORMATION ON ABSTRACTS

  • The structured abstract for all presentations, consisting maximum of 250 words, must be submitted under one of the following categories:
    • Original Research: Abstracts should include Introduction, objectives, methodology (including statistical methods where applicable), results, and conclusions.
    • Case Reports: Abstracts should include Introduction, case characteristics (patient’s age, gender, clinical presentation), outcome (diagnosis, treatment), discussion, and conclusion.
    • Review: Abstracts should include Background, Introduction, discussion, and Conclusion.
  • Each category will be further subdivided into Material Science, Removable Prosthodontics, Fixed Prosthodontics, Implants and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics, Esthetic Prosthodontics, Full Mouth Rehabilitation, Digital Dentistry and Prosthodontics, 3D Printing in Prosthodontics, Occlusion, Temporomandibular Disorders and Prosthetic Management, and Sleep Medicine & Prosthodontic Management.
  • Abstracts of published articles and incomplete research will not be accepted. Submitted abstracts should not have been previously submitted or accepted for any other state, national, or international scientific meetings.
  • Abstracts containing plagiarism will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts must be submitted online only. Submissions via email, fax, hard copies, etc., will not be accepted.
  • All student presentation abstracts must be endorsed with the signature and seal of the Head of Department, specifying the presentation category. Please download the Scientific Presentation Declaration form, complete it, and upload the form using the provided website link.
  • When submitting an abstract, participants must select the mandatory category of their presentation topic.

CHECK POINTS

  • It is the responsibility of the presenter to carry their presentations on a pen drive in all required formats as standby.
  • All presentations must include the names of all authors. Names of guiding staff, Head of Department (HOD), or college names should not be mentioned in any presentation format. Including such names will result in disqualification.
  • The best papers, posters, and table clinics of each session will undergo reassessment by a separate jury if necessary, or presenters may be asked to re-present for consideration for Best Category awards.
  • Awards for all presentations will be conferred only if both the author and co-author are physically present during the presentation and at the time of the award announcement during the valedictory function.
  • The decision of the Scientific Committee is final and binding.

PAPER PRESENTATION

  • Free Papers can be submitted with two options: Faculty or Student preferences.
  • Scientific student paper presentations should have 2 authors (1 presenting and 1 co-author) , while faculty paper presentations are limited to 1 author only.
  • Both the presenting author and co-author must be physically present for their presentation.
  • Each presenter will be allocated a maximum of 8 minutes for their presentation, followed by a 2-minute discussion period.
  • One best paper will be chosen per session. The author and co-author must be present in person to accept the award

E-POSTER PRESENTATION

  • Free e-Posters can be submitted with two options: Faculty or Student preferences.
  • The title of the e-poster must not exceed 100 characters, including spaces.
  • Utilize clear headings and ensure adequate spacing between sections. Images and graphics should be of high quality, well-labelled, and described.
  • Posters should be comprehensible to viewers without verbal explanation. They should feature a well-organized structure and layout with minimal text, ensuring readability from a distance of 5 meters.
  • Presentations must fit within one PowerPoint slide (Microsoft PowerPoint). The page setup/size should be 16:9, with 1080 resolution, a maximum size of 2Mb, in JPEG format, and in landscape orientation. Avoid using slide transitions, animation files, movies, or sound links in the presentation.
  • A maximum of 2 authors can participate in a student e-poster presentation, while faculty e-poster presentations are limited to 1 author.
  • Each presenter will be allotted a maximum of 3 minutes for their presentation, followed by a 2-minute discussion period.
  • One best poster will be chosen per session. The author and co-author must be present in person to accept the award

TABLE CLINIC PRESENTATION

  • Each Table Clinic can accommodate between 2 to 4 students.
  • The Presenters will have up to 4 minutes to present their work, followed by a 2-minute discussion.
  • Each team will be provided with one table for display. The allotted space for each team's presentation will be 3 feet by 2 feet.
  • One best table-clinic will be chosen per session. The author and co-author must be present in person to accept the award.

NEXTGEN CONTEST - 2024

The NextGen Contest aims to highlight the exceptional talent and innovative ideas of young prosthodontists. Participants will showcase their creativity and craftsmanship beyond traditional academic presentations. Rising stars will push the boundaries of the field through video pitches, featuring challenges like Mannequin Mania and engaging in social media influencer contests such as the Meme Fiesta. The contest welcomes participation from both students and young members of the Indian Prosthodontic Society (OL Members).

MEME FIESTA

  • The theme of the memes should either align with the conference theme or focus on promoting the Prosthodontics specialty to the general public, patients, or dental professionals.
  • Memes must be submitted in JPG/JPEG format with a resolution of 1080 pixels.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring the quality and compatibility of their images.
  • Participants must electronically submit their memes to this email id - [email protected]
  • All memes presented must adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality. They should not be created for self-promotion of individuals or clinics.
  • The top-selected memes will be showcased during a dedicated session at the national prosthodontics conference.
  • The Indian Prosthodontic Society, the 52nd IPS conference, and the organizing committee are not liable for any copyright issues or conflicts of interest arising from the memes. Authors or content creators are responsible for addressing such matters.

MANNEQUIN MANIA

  • The recording should take place within the Department of Prosthodontics, either in the clinical or laboratory setting.
  • Each college is allowed one group entry.
  • Videos must not exceed 30 seconds in duration.
  • Videos must be submitted in MP4 format with a resolution of 1080p (1920x1080 pixels).
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring the quality and compatibility of their videos.
  • Participants must electronically submit their videos to this email id - [email protected]
  • All presented videos must adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality if applicable. They should not be created for the self-promotion of individuals or clinics.
  • The top-selected video will be featured during a dedicated session at the national prosthodontics conference.
  • The Indian Prosthodontic Society, the 52nd IPS conference, and the organizing committee are not responsible for any copyright issues or conflicts of interest related to the videos. Authors or content creators are responsible for addressing such matters.
